Country Club Park – Wickenburg AZ RV Parks

Living in an RV Living in an RV is not difficult, but you do need to do some things differently than if you were at home. If you are an extended traveler and will be gone from your home base for two or three months, then there are additional things that you must consider and take into account before you depart. And, finally, if you are going to be a full-timer, then you have a long list of considerations and actions to take before you sell your house and move into a motorhome or 5er. For weekend campers and extended travelers, the biggest headache is loading and unloading the RV—with your clothes, personal items, and food. After your first few trips out in your RV, you will soon discover that you usually pack far too many clothes from your wardrobe. You will find that you use a few clothes frequently, but seldom use most items. Many people find it easier, food wise, to prepare many meals, especially dinners, ahead of time, freeze them, and then only defrost and warm them up when they are camping.

Full-Hookup RV Camping in Central Florida Florida has a strong camping industry in place in to greet the thousands of tourists who go there year round to enjoy the sunshine. Options range from state parks to lakes to campgrounds near Disney World or the beaches.

I love state parks but this one, no way. Your table is concrete. The table and the fire pit are down 5 or 6 steps on a lower level. So everytime you needed something from the RV you had to go up and down. At the fire pit, you were surrounded by lots of trees and foliage and a standing still lake that allowed for more biting bugs that I have ever experienced in my life. We didn’t use the picnic area or firepit.

Sites are wonderfully angled so you do not look into your neighbor’s windows. The park is somewhat divided into two halves. Flojet Waste Macerator Pump. Great Prices on RV Waste Water Macerator Pumps and Holding Tanks. RV Waste Pump Superstore – On Sale Now! –

Contained in large holding tanks, RV waste water is usually emptied into a sewer drain with a flexible plastic hose. However, when setup for extended living in a campground or RV park, the holding tank drain may be permanently connected to a sewer drain; this procedure saves the hassle of attaching, removing and cleaning the hose every time the tank is emptied. Take a measurement between the bottom end of the sewer hose adapter and the ground and subtract 2 inches.

Cut a section of 3 inch diameter PVC pipe equal to the measurement, minus the 2 inches, with a hacksaw. For example, if the distance from the ground to the bottom of the adapter is 2 feet, cut the pipe to a length of 1 foot 10 inches. Clean the burrs from the cut ends of the pipe with grit sandpaper. Rub a few drops of dish washing liquid onto one end of the vertical section of pipe and work the pipe into the bottom end of the rubber hose attached to the sewer drain adapter.

Fit a 3 inch diameter PVC elbow to the bottom of the vertical section of pipe; do not glue the elbow to the pipe. Clean the ends of the pipe with grit sandpaper. Scuff one end of the 6 inch section of pipe and the inside of a 3 inch diameter PVC elbow with a piece of fine grade steel wool.

January 22, Campskunk , How Tos 11 Comments First off, I don’t even HAVE a house, so this is for those of you who still have sticks and brick attachments, or are visiting folks who do. Houses have connections that come in handy for us RVers staying at a residence, and I’m not talking about the electricity and water. I’m talking about sewer connections you can dump your waste water tanks into.

City sewer connections have what’s called a clean-out, which is a large opening into the sewer line just as it leaves the house and heads toward the city sewer connection. It’s perfect for dumping your gray and black water tank contents if you don’t want to drive across town and give people money, which is usually what you have to do when dumping in a populated area.

The trick, however, is to find this clean-out, because few homeowners know where they are. In houses with connections to a municipal sewage treatment system, the sewer line comes out from under the house and usually makes a bee-line for the street where the sewer lines are. If you’re in the middle of the block this is easy — corner lots could go either way. Water meters are another utility usually on the side of the lot where the sewer hookup is, so that will help give you a clue to location.

Here it is — my sister’s septic clean-out, behind the rhododendron bush and among the shrimp plants. In the south, this is all white PVC pipe. Get a little shovel and gently poke around in the flowerbeds and other stuff along the base of the house’s foundation. The line is usually just below ground level, and is a 4 inch PVC pipe probably cast iron up north where the ground freezes — one of you Yankees help me out here. It’s the only huge pipe coming out from underneath the house — supply lines are much smaller.
